“We are fostering Chevy through Colonial Capital Humane Society! We have had the pleasure of knowing this handsome guy thanks to your post due to tropical storm Hermine. He's great with kids, house trained, rarely ever barks, very calm, knows how to sit/shake/lay down, and is good with other dogs. Very good boy! He's acts like an old gentlemen and is so relaxed and calm. We've been socializing him over the weekend and below is a picture of some friends that Chevy made at Bill's Pet Shop. Chevy is such a gentlemen. He does well with being surrounded by children. He's just a loving guy looking for his forever home.” –Kathryn K.Please visit our website, www.colonialcapital.org to fill out an application today!

About Colonial Capital Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

The mission of Colonial Capital Humane Society is to rescue and relieve the suffering of abused, abandoned, and stray animals; provide for their care until forever homes can be found; and create greater public awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering and humane treatment of animals.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our shelter is located at 1860 Old Airport Road in New Bern, NC. Since we are an all-volunteer organization, appointments are required to visit our available pets.

We have adopt-a-thons several times a year at PetSense (located beside Harris Teeter) in New Bern.

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption application is located on our website. Home visits will be made and vet references must be provided. There is an adoption fee on all animals that helps to offset the cost of veterinary care and spay/neuter of the animal. The basic adoption fee is $150 for cats and $175 for dogs. This fee may vary depending on the pet. Please contact adoptions@colonialcapital.org for more information.
