Charlie's Story...
Your best pal is here and his name, of course, is Charlie. He's an adorable 18 pound brown and black Beagle mix who was born in June. He loves everyone...big, small, human, canine, equine, feline, old or young. He has one of the sweetest faces and adorable expressions you'll ever see. His puppy antics are so cute it will be hard not to fall in love with him over and over again. Make your appointment soon to meet your new BFF.

For more information or to see Charlie, submit an online dog adoption application at http://hsfc.org/adoptions/applications/online/. After reviewing the application, staff will contact you—typically within two business days— to make an appointment to visit the farm where our dogs and horses are kept.

Our dogs and horses are NOT at the HSFC shelter at 4057 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA--only our cats, birds, rabbits, and small mammals can be visited there. Come by and see us!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charlie, a Fairfax Beagle puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Fairfax, or seeking a Beagle puppy from a breeder in Fairfax.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fairfax already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fairfax breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fairfax paves the way for another one to be saved.
