Molly is a very sweet and low maintenance girl. She is 3 1/2 years old and weighs 60 pounds. We brought our newborn son home to Molly, so she has lived with an infant and now toddler for over two years and is extremely gentle and loving with him. She loves to roll over on her belly for him to give her belly rubs and rolls over in submission any time he enters the room. She seems to  understand gentleness with both babies and toddlers. As responsible parents and dog owners, we monitored their interactions very closely but have always been impressed with Molly's behavior towards both children and adults alike.

Molly is content in her crate if necessary and is also accustomed to sleeping in a crate with a blanket at night. She is completely house trained and can "hold it" for a quite a while. Molly also really enjoys the outdoors and is content to lay on our back patio and bask in the sun. She enjoys cuddling on the couch and being pet but is never too demanding for attention. She has zero issues with barking. She is extremely well behaved for vet visits and gets great behavior reports anytime she is boarded. Molly's face will melt you. She has the cutest freckles on her nose and deep brown soulful eyes. She loves to wag her tail to greet you, even the sight of one of us walking through the room will make her wag her tail. She is extremely compliant with basic commands like come, stay, get down, or drop it. She is also a quick learner and enjoys doing tricks for food. Just a sweetheart with a calm and laid back demeanor.

We originally adopted Molly as a companion for our first dog, a female Doberman. We have had both dogs together for three years and have been trying to work on their relationship ever since. The only reason we made the extremely difficult decision to re-home Molly is because of the relationship between our two dogs. Molly and our other dog have fought on several occasions over toys and treats. Because of this, we think Molly would thrive best in an only dog household or with a submissive canine friend. Molly has had gentle and playful interaction with other dogs at dog parks which lead us to believe it is solely an issue with our previous alpha Doberman. Molly has never been around cats.

We can't think of a dog more deserving of a second chance at a forever home than Molly. She is cute, sweet, and EASY to love and care for. As her family, we are wracked with guilt because we feel like she is being re-homed because of a personality clash with our other dog. Please consider giving Molly a second chance, she truly deserves a warm home, a warm bed, and lots of love.

PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered.

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered.

SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one’s pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted.  If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.

NOTE:  All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian.

About K-9 Angels Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

K-9 Angels Rescue is an all-volunteer, all-breed canine rescue organization established in February 2012. As of April 10, 2016, we've found homes for over 2,700 dogs!!

We are a rescue group for shelter dogs who run out of time. In other words, we are not a shelter, have no permanent facilities, and are not equipped to take in dogs from the public. We select dogs from the greater Houston "kill" animal control facilities who would not have made it out alive. (Don't worry! If you need help rehoming a dog, there are other non-profit groups who can assist you.)

No one involved in K-9 Angels receives ANY compensation. Our volunteers are compassionate animal welfare advocates who contribute their time, skills, and finances to shelter homeless dogs in Houston. To save the lives of the abandoned, abused, and stray dogs who end up in Houston's animal control facilities, K-9 Angels relies completely on adoption fees, donations, and our amazing volunteers.

K-9 Angels covers ALL costs for dogs currently in the program. During intake, every dog gets a microchip and is spayed or neutered (if old enough for the procedure). If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. We fund all medical care necessary, even if we have to raise extra Helping Paw funds for special cases! From the time they enter the program to the time they graduate, K-9 Angels dogs are kept up-to-date on all vaccines (DHLPPC, bordatella, rabies) as well as heartworm and flea prevention.

We commit to K-9 Angels dogs until they are adopted.
Our volunteer foster homes patiently provide safety, love, and integration into a household environment - a key to successful adoptions. The biographies, pictures, and even videos from foster homes are important "pup-licilty" for our dogs! We are always in need of additional foster homes.

Our goal is a "fur-ever" home! We take every precaution not to contribute to the dog overpopulation problem here in Houston. Applications are processed according to our adoption policies to insure the best situation for our dogs and the families who adopt them.

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from K-9 Angels Rescue! Please understand that not all families and dogs are compatible. Every effort is made to match a dog’s exhibited traits with characteristics you desire in a dog.
As such, adoptions are not done on a first-come, first-served basis. In the event we have multiple applications for the same dog and all applications are equal, we will most likely adopt the dog to the applicant having current or previous dog ownership.

AS A RESCUE, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DENY ANY APPLICATION.

To be considered as an adopter, you must be:
- At least 23 years of age and possess valid identification showing current residential address;
- Willing and able to invest the time and money required to provide proper care for a dog
(estimated minimum annual cost = $950 per dog);
- Prepared to pay a $200 Adoption Fee (this includes the dog’s spay/neuter, microchip,
boarding, vaccinations, heartworm and flea prevention, and any other medicines or medical
procedures needed);
- Willing to allow us to do a home visit prior to adoption; and
- Prepared to give us your veterinarian’s contact information if you currently own a dog
or have owned a dog in the past
