Tia Maria is about 14-16 weeks old and she is so sweet! She has a unique brownish black coat with white on her chest and back paws.

Tia Maria was rescued from a high kill shelter in NC along with her brother, Kahula, and she is now living in NJ in a foster home. Her foster family says....."Tia Maria is a bundle of joy!! Playful and Fun! She loves everyone and everyone loves her! Tia has a tail that does not stop wagging and when runs over to you she has this cute wiggle butt. Tia Maria is an affectionate puppy who loves to cuddle and give everyone she meet puppy kisses. Her favorite toys are tennis balls and squeaky toys. She sleeps through the night without having accidents and she is learning house training. Tia Maria is good with other dogs and she love people."

Tia Maria has such cute a personality, we know when you meet her you will fall in love!If you have a furever home for this pet, please e-mail Furever Home Dog Rescue at FHDR@att.net and request an adoption application.

Please note Furever Home Dog Rescue does not adopt puppies/dogs to homes where they will be alone all day.

The breed this pet is listed as is Furever Home Dog Rescue's best guess as we have no background info on who the mom and dad are.

Furever Home Dog Rescue does not have a shelter facility you can visit. Our volunteers foster the dogs and pups in their homes once they have been vetted and transported here from NC.

About Furever Home Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

At Furever Home Dog Rescue, we thank you for considering the adoption of a rescue dog. We understand that you may have other rescue groups to choose from and that is good news for everyone. Why? This year alone, approximately 7 million pets will die in shelters across the US. The more rescue groups finding forever homes for these pups, collectively we can reduce that number of unnecessary deaths significantly.

Why Choose Furever Home Dog Rescue

There are some subtle differences about Furever Home Dog Rescue that we believe benefits our adopters in so many ways: 1. Our pups are temperament tested by the shelter and fully vetted by licensed veterinarians prior to being considered for Furever Home Dog Rescue. 2. All of our pups are placed in foster homes prior to adoption where our fosters provide further evaluation and house training on our pups 3. Our adopters meet with the foster family and gain valuable insight into the pups behavior toward training, food, interaction with children, dogs, cats, and other very important intangibles. 4. We believe this process further benefits our adopters since we match families and pups based on this valuable insight.

Read some of Furever Home Dog Rescue's reviews below. The reviews are from some of our many adopters, fosters and another rescue group.

"We adopted our dog Bella from Camille in 2010 and it was a wonderful experience... We were looking for a dog on Petfinder and came across this adorable Border Collie mix and contacted FHDR. Camille is such a kind person who cares so much about finding homes for these dogs and it shows. She makes the process as easy as she can while still making sure it is a good match. We love our Bella and we have Camille to thank for her."Annemarie and Family, adopter

"Camille, as founder of Furever Home Dog Rescue genuinely cares about every dog and family that she works with. Camille works very hard when interviewing prospective adopters looking for a new pet. Because of her process, qualified families are paired with puppies or dogs that will match well with their personalities and home life. Working with Camille and Furever Home Dog Rescue for the past three years has been a great experience for our family. Camille is a joy to work with and is always available to answer questions or assist in any way. She has developed a wonderful network of volunteers that pull together to save the lives of dogs who may not have had a chance for a healthy and happy life. Foster families are always needed so that more dogs and puppies can be rescued from shelters and placed in loving homes" Patti, foster

"I just wanted to commend Camille on the wonderful work she does to help save all the pups of Furever Home Dog Rescue. The photos of them with their new families with beaming faces really tells the happy ending of what could have been a much different story if not for Camille and her untiring devotion to rehome them. Thank you to Camille and the foster families." Claire

"We adopted an amazing puppy named Dexter from Furever Home Dog Rescue on February 14, 2010. So many of the rescue groups we had reached out to failed to get back to us and we almost gave up. Camille helped us to find the perfect puppy for what we were looking for and she made the process so easy. We began fostering for Furever Home Dog Rescue in 2012 and have continued to foster since that time. Camille has a heart of gold and truly loves every dog and puppy that comes through her rescue group. We have had so many great experiences thanks to Furever Home Dog Rescue.", Natasha & Russ, adopter and foster

"Camille started this organization in hopes of saving dogs lives. She has dedicated the past several years to this great cause. I have been privileged to witness first hand what she, the volunteers and fosters have done. I have also been lucky enough to be able to participate in a few adoption events. If you are looking to bring a puppy or dog into your life, consider adoption and consider Furever Home Dog Rescue. Fosters are always needed as well". Evelyn, volunteer

"I've been volunteering with Furever Home Dog Rescue for over 5 years. In the course of that time, Camille had demonstrated a true compassion for animals. Her dedication to rescuing puppies and dogs while finding the best homes available is beyond honorable." Michele, adopter and foster

"I can not thank you enough for this wonderful dog. He brought light and hope into our family during some difficult times. He is a gift from God! Camille you are an angel for all you do." Lori, adopter and foster

"So happy that we are able to be part of Furever Home Dog Rescue. Such an incredible organization and amazing people. Thank you Camille for allowing us to be part of something so rewarding and refreshing." Ashley & Kevin, fosters

"I've had the pleasure of working closely with Camille in dog rescue since 2009. She is one of the kindest, most dedicated and compassionate person I've ever met. Animals truly are her passion. Once she takes in a needy dog/pup from the shelter, she commits herself 100% to that pup as if it is her own. She has saved countless dogs over the years, placing them in loving homes that bring so much joy to so many families. Keep up the wonderful work Camille!" Janet R, fellow dog rescuer

More About Furever Home Dog Rescue

We are an all-volunteer group located in New Jersey dedicated to finding furever homes for all of our rescue dogs. Our dogs and puppies come from The Lenoir County SPCA Shelter in Kinston, NC, whom we have been affiliated for years and have established a wonderful relationship with the volunteers and local veterinarians. Lenoir County Shelter unfortunately is overrun with puppies and dogs each day when owners cannot keep them, and the reasons are many: affordability, unplanned litters, moving away, strays, etc. Lenoir only has so much space and resources to care for these dogs, and as a result they need rescue groups like Furever Home Dog Rescue along with adopters like you to help find wonderful homes for these pups. Each week, Furever Home Dog Rescue previews the available pups at Lenoir with our foster families. The selected pups are brought to the vet for age appropriate vetting and to get a Certificate of Health. Once medically cleared, the pups are transported to New Jersey by the outstanding work of our volunteer transport caravan. These volunteers, in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey carefully transport the pups from the shelter to Furever Home Dog Rescue in New Jersey. Once the pups arrive in NJ, they live in their foster homes along with children and other pets. This allows us to get a sense of the pups personalities and needs, so we can place them with their furever families.

More About Our Pups

Prior to adoption, all pups receive age appropriated vetting and vaccinations, they are dewormed and receive flea and tick preventatives. Pups older than 6 months are spay/neutered and pups over 1 year also get tested for HW, Lyme and E-Cannis. Puppies under 6 months are adopted with a spay/neuter agreement that the adopters are responsible to have done at 6 months..

More Fosters are Always Welcome

Because we do not have a local shelter, we depend on our foster families. We are always looking for more people who are willing to open their homes to foster a pup on a temporary basis until they are adopted to their furever homes. Fostering is a rewarding experience and you will be helping save a dogs life. There are puppies, young dogs & older dogs of different breeds that need foster homes. Please consider helping these wonderful dogs get a second chance. With your help, we can save more dogs from being destroyed simply because there is a lack of space at the shelter. If you would like to be a part of our rescue efforts and are interested in short term fostering, please email Camille at FHDR@att.net. The more fosters we have, the more dogs we can save!

Here is another review from one of Furever Home Dog Rescue's fosters....

"My family started fostering for Furever Home Dog Rescue in 2012 and we have fostered 10 precious pups until they found their Furever homes. We have also adopted two pups through Furever Home Dog Rescue who have become important parts of our family! The love that Camille has for these shelter dogs is boundless. The pups and dogs come from a high kill shelter and are placed with a foster family carefully chosen by Camille until she patiently finds them the perfect adoptive family. It is so gratifying to know that you helped to give a pup a chance at a great life plus for every pup that comes out of the shelter makes room for one more! Fostering is an incredible experience for the whole family. Contact Camille to become a foster parent you will not regret the experience!" Deidre, adopter and foster

Adopting a Friend

If you see a pup that you are interested in adopting, please email us at FHDR@att.net and ask for an adoption application. Please note submitting an application does not guarantee adoption. The adoption process consists of your completion of an adoption application, our review of the application and contacting relevant references & verifying the application information. Your patience is appreciated as we receive many applications each day for our pups. If your application meets our requirements, we will contact you to discuss the dog and arrange a home visit. We understand you are excited to meet our pups, but because we do not have a physical shelter and all our pups are in foster homes, we need to limit pet visitation to Approved Applicants only. Once your application is completed and approved by Furever Home Dog Rescue, we will be happy to schedule your visit. When you meet the pup, Furever Home Dog Rescue will make a determination if it's a match. If it's a match, you are welcome to adopt the pup at that time. You are never obligated to adopt the pup. Please note, Furever Home Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse an adoption to anyone for any reason.

Our Adoption Process...

If you see a pup that you are interested in adopting, please email us at FHDR@att.net.com & ask for an adoption application.

Please note we do not adopt puppies/dogs to homes where they will be alone all day.

Upon completion and review, if application meets our requirements, we contact you to discuss the dog and arrange a home visit. Appointments for meet and greets of the dog will only be set after an adoption application has been completed and reviewed.

Please understand an application does not guarantee an adoption.

If the adoption application is approved, we will set up a meet and greet. The applicant will have the opportunity to meet the dog and ask the foster questions about the dog. If everyone thinks the adoption is a good fit, the adoption will be finalized.

The adopter will be required to sign an adoption agreement and a spay/neuter agreement (if dog is under 6 months old).
