My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW!

Sandee is a shih tzu who was rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri. We were told she is 2 years old. She is a very laid back girl and would do best in an calm environment.

Sandee uses eye drops for dry eye caused by the conditions she lived in at the puppy mill.

Our dogs rescued from puppy mills require a secure fenced in yard and another small dog as a companion. We find that puppy mill rescues do best in homes that meet these requirements.

We are not a shelter and do not have a facility where you can come visit our available dogs. Our dogs are all in foster homes. Sandee is currently fostering in Rochester, NY.

We currently adopt in the states of NY, NJ, Eastern PA, and DE. We can not accept applications from other states at this time.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our adoption application which you can find on our website at www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org/adopt.html

Our adoption fees are on our application.

All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped.

We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We are a public charity that relies solely on funds through our adoption fee, fundraisers, and private donations. Since we are 100% volunteer based, all funds collected go directly towards the rescue and vet costs of our dogs.

We take each rescue personally and spend a lot of effort trying to match the right dog to the right family. Thank you for considering one of our rescued dogs.
