My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

* Nina
* Boxer / Terrier mix
* Female
* 3-5 years old
* Approx. 40-45 lbs.
* Temperament / Energy Level: Very friendly, sweet; low to medium energy
* Recommendation for kids: good, no known issues
* Relationship with dogs: good with most (see notes)
* Relationship with cats: cats ok with initial supervision
* Crate-trained
* Spayed

Nina arrived from West Virginia with her 2 puppies who have been adopted. She is an intelligent, loving dog, connects quickly with people, is good with children, leans in for hugs and is a total doll. She has the most beautiful, glossy black coat. Nina has been remarkably mellow and patient in her kennel, waiting for her forever companion to come.

Our volunteers have spent quality time with Nina and here are some observations: She's a confident dog, a quick learner and very eager to please. More training on the leash would be good for Nina, she loves to walk but does pull on occasion. She's good with other dogs, her style of play is energetic - so medium-to-big-sized dogs who are okay with that kind of play are best for her. She has shown an interest in wanting to play with the barn cats, she has a low prey drive and has not shown any aggression at all, just a curiosity. She has no resource guarding, you can remove food and toys with no problem. A fenced yard would be awesome for her to exercise and play. She is gentle with taking treats. Nina loves people and would make a wonderful companion for an active person or family.
