SANDY's Story...
This precious senior is all about love. Sandy had a wonderful home until her mom got too sick to care for her. The family wanted her euthanized but we couldnt' let that happen. She has so much love to give and so much life left. Please help Sandy enjoy her golden years with a family who loves her. She is terrific with kids, loves walks and is the perfect, gentle companion. Sandy is about 30 lbs and 10-11 years old. We think she has some Bassett Hound in her too. Adopt Sandy!
Apply at www.polkadogz.org Adoption fee: $150

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SANDY, a Oakland Dachshund/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Labrador Retriever for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Dachshund/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Dachshund/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
