Emmy is an adorable 11-year-old female Main Coon/persian mix with long silky fur coat, thick fluffy tail, green eyes, ear tufts, and whiskers a mile long! At 6.5 pounds she is small for her breed. She loves being a lap kitty with her favorite people, likes being picked up and cuddled, and enjoys being scratched between her ears and under her chin, stroked, and groomed . Emmy is very friendly, affectionate, intelligent, playful, curious and energetic. She is an active girl who likes to explore and find her own special hiding spots. She loves to play with people and other cats. She isn’t a huge fan of balls and mouse toys, but she LOVES interactive play so that she can chase pieces of string, laser dots, and toys on the end of a string or wand. Emmy is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and in excellent health. Her most recent annual physical exam was in July 2016. She always uses her litter box.Emmy is strictly an indoor cat. Her cat companion of 10 years recently passed away, and she now needs to find a new home with a person who can give her lots of attention and play time, and preferably in a quieter household with another cat with whom she can play. Emmy has never had any experience with kids. Meet her in Arlington, VA Posted 11/15/16

About Home Alone Feline Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. We do not have a shelter and rely on a group of dedicated foster homes to care for our felines until a "fur-ever" home can be found. We actively promote the importance of spaying and neutering and best practices in companion animal care. The majority of our cats/kittens come from high-kill shelters. We do not receive any government funding and rely on private contributions, 100% of which go to provide medical care, food and supplies.

You can support our rescue by shopping your favorite online stores through AdoptAShelter.com. It's FREE and easy to use. Simply click on the link below which will connect you directly to our shelter's shopping page. Then shop like you always do at your favorite stores, including Amazon, Ebay, Petsmart & Home Depot. Whatever you buy, a portion of EVERY purchase will come to us in a cash donation.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our cats are in private foster homes; therefore, we require an application be completed before setting up appointments to meet them; an application can be e-mailed, faxed or mailed upon request. Adopters must be within a reasonable driving distance to No. VA ( 60 minutes); we do not ship/transport our animals. We participate in public adoption event held in various locations in the Wash.DC/No. VA areal most Sundays in conjunction with other rescuers. Please e-mail us for specifics.

Our Adoption Process...

We strive to make the "purr-fect" match through our interview and application process. Adoption fees, which range from $100-$135, include all medical work (FELV/FIV testing, shots; spay/neuter, etc); home visits are required prior to final placement. The majority of our kittens are only available for adoption in pairs or as a companion to another young cat/kitten already in the home. Sorry, but we do not adopt very young kittens to families with children under 6 yrs old due to safety concerns for both child and kitten. Adopters also receive a certificate for a free comprehensive wellness exam at any Caring Hands Animal Hospital.
