Hi, I’m Josie! I’m a one-year old pit mix looking for my forever home. I’m full of puppy energy and love playing with my 80-pound foster dog brother, my other two smaller foster dog sisters (when they can tolerate me) and my foster family. I also have a foster cat sister but I am not that interested in her. I'm a very agile and energetic girl. I am still learning to be the best dog I can be, so I’ll need someone who is patient and willing to work with me on good manners and training. I think I would fit best in a home with at least one other dog because I love to play and I take good cues from them regarding the rules of the house. After my puppy energy runs out, I'm calm and want nothing more than to snuggle as close to you as I can get and sleep the hours away. You’ll probably fall in love with my loud exhales letting you know how much I appreciate you giving me a safe home to live in... When I was brought to KC Pet Proejct, I was in pretty bad shape - starving and sick. The vet said I could only take 3 steps before collapsing and they were worried I wouldn’t make it through the night. They nursed me back to health and now it's as though I never went through that ordeal! I am very treat-motivated, but hey, what dog isn’t? I can get a little spooked by loud noises and unfamiliar events, so I’ll need a dedicated safe space in your home that I can find shelter in if I need to (at foster mom’s house it’s the queen sized bed in the bedroom!). Even though I had a rough start, I am full of love and silliness and will keep you entertained for hours!
