Hi there! My name is Dempsey and there’s a big personality packed into this little body. My favorite thing is to be close to my person, so expect me to follow you from room-to-room. Cuddling is my VERY favorite thing to do any time of the day. You pick the spot and I’ll snuggle up with you and nap the day away. Car rides are the greatest things ever and I am always ready to run errands with you. Fetch is my favorite sport and I bring the toy back most of the time. I’ve been in my foster home since Halloween and am learning all of my doggy manners. I completed a basic obedience class and won the “most improved” ribbon and understand “sit”, “down” and “here”. I am working on my leash walking, but sometimes I get so excited I tend to hop at the beginning! I have to admit that I get a bit anxious when I meet new people and will make sure my bark is heard. Once I get used to everyone, I calm down. My foster home has 5 other dogs ranging from 10 to 80lbs and I get along fine with them. I am house and crate trained, although I am make a little noise for the first few minutes in my crate. I don’t really need the crate and my foster mom only puts me in there if she’s leaving for extended periods. I am a good little watch dog and will bark when I see passersby or hear the doorbell. Once asked, I quiet down. I’ve been around kids of all ages and do just fine with them. My ideal home will have low-to-mid activity and noise levels and my perfect family will be able to spend a lot time with me, show me affection and want a serious sidekick. I learn to love very quickly and bond with people quite easily.
