Maizy is a dachshund of about 4 years old.  She is a sweet dog who gets along with other animals.  She has a brain condition known as cerebellar hypoplasia which makes her shake and be unsteady on her feet.  Otherwise, she is in good shape and in need of some love.  Because of her condition she has trouble walking and she requires puppy pads to be nearby.  Plus, she is not a big fan of having her feet touched.  She was recently at a local event and we discovered that she gets along with pigs.  Who knew?  Also, she loves to snuggle in your arms for a well-deserved nap.

She is currently available for viewing at our shelter during open hours or by appointment.  Open hours are Friday, 6-8pm and Sunday, 2-4pm.

To be considered to adopt Maizy, please visit www.ahimsahaven.org and fill out an adoption application.  Renters, please include your landlords name and contact info.  We are an all volunteer rescue and appreciate your patience.

Our Adoption Process...

Puppies less than one year $300=400 depending on breed and age. Dogs less than 5 years old are $200-250. Dogs over 5 years old are $150 or less depending on age and health status. These fees include spay or neuter, vaccination against rabies, distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, parvovirus, and bordetella. We also worm, and test for heartworm. Animal Rescue is a nonprofit organization, so your donations are tax deductible. Our adoption policies are as follows: We require a signed adoption contract, and payment of adoption fee prior to placement. Fee is refundable if the dog is returned within 30 days. We require that the dog be returned to our care, in the event the placement does not work out even if that is many years in the future.
