If any dog deserves a Happily Ever After, It's Roxie. She's spent half her life 'in the system'.

Roxie was a victim of animal abuse, not once-but twice. The first time Roxie was removed from her 'family' she was covered in mange, left on a chain and underweight. March 2014. Her owners were charged with animal cruelty under county ordinance, and received only a $50 fine and were allowed to keep her. Fast forward to December 2015 when Animal Control Officers found Roxie, in the condition of her first photo.

Roxies owners were charged in State Court Misdemeanor with Animal Cruelty and Assault on an Officer, as the female attempted to hit me in the face with her fist when we were saving Roxie from her captors.

Thankfully, this time we were awarded custody of her (This is her owners THIRD animal cruelty conviction). What life Roxie hasn't spent on a chain, she's spent in a kennel. For over a year Roxie has been confined to a 8x4 living space, with little human interaction from anyone but staff, and we're now having to watch her deteriorate because of kennel stress.

Roxie is a high energy girl that LOVES to play fetch. Right now, she would need to be an only pet, as living in a shelter so long has really taken it's toll on her socialization skills.

Please, help us find Roxie a home before it's too late! For so long she was under the 'safety' of a 'court hold' but now, Roxie is in danger...In danger of being euthanized for space, and in danger of loosing her mind being cooped up like this.
