PENDING ADOPTION - Beau is a 19 month old small poodle, who is looking for a new forever home. He is 15 lbs not yet neutered and this will be a requirement as part of his adoption. He is house trained and crate trained. He loves to cuddle, give kisses, and is very entertaining. Beau loves to play fetch and will play for hours. He also loves his toys.

Like many small dogs, Beau can be very protective of his crate (his safe space ) and will growl / warn you that he is not comfortable with anyone putting their hand in his crate. He recently bit the groomer (no medical attention required) when she put her hand in to take him out of his crate. This has made the current owner uncomfortable as they have small children.

Beau would do fine in a home where someone would respect his safe spot and understand the small dog syndrome that many of these little guys can possess.

Beau does currently live with two other female small poodles and loves to play with them. Not sure about cats.

About Michigan Standard Poodle Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Michigan Standard Poodle Rescue was founded when it was learned that there was not a rescue in the state of Michigan that is dedicated to these intelligent highly social dogs. We are a rescue that does not have a shelter of our own and we rely completely on volunteers. We are fortunate to have an amazing network of people. Some have been involved in animal rescue their entire lives and some are new to the club. We all share the same enthusiasm and the love of animals. If you have a Standard Poodle that you need to surrender for any reason, please contact us before taking it to a shelter. If you are looking to add a permanent family member, please submit an application.

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters are required to fill out an Adoption Application. We check and confirm references and the vet you have on record. We also do a home check.

Our adoption fee is $300. All dogs will be vetted, current on vaccinations, spayed / neutered.

You will need to sign an Adoption Agreement, stating that you will provide proper care for the dog.
