Ava's Story...
Meet Ava! Ava is a 3-4 year old petite Tuxedo girl. She has lovely markings, cute short legs and the most beautiful eyes that will melt your heart. Ava has not had an easy start to her life. She was surrendered to a local animal shelter, through no fault of her own, but she totally shut down in the shelter as the environment was too stressful for her. Luckily, she was able to move into a foster home where she is doing great! Ava is very sweet and is looking for a new forever family who can give her extra TLC and be patient with her, as she can initially be scared and timid in new situations. But as soon as she knows she is safe, she will seek out lots of love and attention and be your best friend. She enjoys her food and treats and is not a picky eater. Ava is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Ava lived with a dog and another cat in her previous home and got along fine with both of them. She would do well as an only pet or as an addition to a home that includes other furry friends. If you are interested in Ava or would like more information, email her foster mom at lovearescuepup@gmail.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ava, a Overland Park Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
