Sugar Plum's Story...
Sugar Plum is a 7 year old, 12 pound Shih Tzu. She is a sweet little peanut that is quiet and mellow. She is good with everybody and everything. She is great with both cats and dogs. She loves to cuddle, lying next to you or on top of you. She very much enjoys treats! She enjoys being pet, especially little scratches on her back. Plum is very content sleeping in her bed and would be described as a couch potato. She is very quiet, rarely barking.

Her eye sight is not one hundred percent - she maps out the area that she spends the most time in and has no trouble making her way around! She responds to her name and loves being given treats. She would make a great addition to a caring family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sugar Plum, a New York Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in New York, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
