Guthrie is an amazing family dog. He is approx. 7  years old and is about 60-65 lbs.  He gets along with everyone in the family, including my elderly greyhound and my autistic son. He is a love bug. He'd love nothing more than to be a lap dog, but he has to content himself with getting affection while on the floor like medium-sized bundle of wiggles that he is. He loves ear rubs and belly rubs. His adorable spotted belly is very hard to resist, so he gets lots of those. I have an autistic son, who can occasionally be a little rough, yet Guthrie takes it all in stride.

Guthrie is equally happy inside or out. He loves playing with rocks and chasing lizards, but when he comes inside he settles down quickly. He likes to curl up in his crate or the one chair we've designated for him. He does sometimes velcro himself to me as I go around the house, but he is generally respectful of humans' space. He is both crate- and house-trained. I think he would fine for someone who had a job and had to crate him during the day.

We had a trainer come out to get him started on clicker training, which he took to quite quickly. He has a good start, so anyone who wanted to continue would have a fairly easy time adding commands and behaviors to his repertoire. He knows sit and lie down well. He is learning to walk on a leash, stay and come, and he has started with targeting (like touching the hand). The trainer was impressed at how smart he was and how quickly he caught on to things. He is very athletic; I think he'd be fun to try agility with.

The only reason we have to let him go is that he is not good with farm animals like poultry. Please contact us at Cold Wet Noses to meet this amazing guy!~

About Tucson Cold Wet Noses

About Our Rescue Group...

Cold Wet Noses is a small group of individuals who take in the dogs that are going to be euthanized on any given day. We do this, when we can (when we have room for them), from Pima Animal Care Center (PACC).(we apologize we can only take in animals from the county shelter off of there rescue list) We bear all of the cost for spaying or neutering, micro-chipping, health care and shots . We're just a bunch of dog lovers who are trying to help as many furry souls as we can. The animals live with us so we know their personally and what would be the best fit for them. All of our Dogs and Cats our part of our family and we want that for them at your home. WE DO NOT ADOPT OUT DOGS TO HOMES THAT WANT TO KEEP THEM OUTSIDE ALL THE TIME THEY ARE NOT YARD DOGS. We love each and every foster and we want you to do so so as well. If they arent a good match in your home we insist that they come back to us until their perfect match is found. We truly believe that there is a perfect pet for a perfect home! Thank you for adopting a shelter dog or cat from Tucson Cold Wet Noses.
