Hi, I'm "Cliff" and I'm a 4-month old orange kitten. I'm ready to break out of here and go reside at your abode. I mean, these people are nice and all, but they have a lot of kittens, and I prefer individual attention. I would like to snuggle up on your lap and give you some one on one, too. We can watch TV or read a book or just sit and doze off occasionally. When you want, we can play with catnip and laser pointers and check out our stash of treats. Doesn't it sound like fun? Let's do it! You come here, fill out that application and take totally adorable me home! I like it!!

About Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

We are an animal shelter that cares for approximately 1,000 animals per year. We work with Mahaska County and the City of Oskaloosa, IA to provide animal control services and we also work through the Mahaska Humane Society to educate and promote responsible pet ownership as well as low cost spay/neuter services for low income pet owners.

Come Meet Our Pets...

The public can visit our adoptable pets at the Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter any time during normal business hours. We are open to the public Tuesday-Friday 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-4pm.

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters must complete a pre-adoption application in which questions regarding responsible pet ownership are asked. Once approved the adopter is allowed to adopt and must pay an adoption fee which varies based on the age and species of the animal being adopted. At the time of adoption the adopter must sign an adoption contract. All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
