Zelda's Story...
Zelda is a gorgeous girl, about 3 years old. She was picked up by Animal Control so we don't have any history on her. Someone taught her manners - she knows sit, down, takes a treat nicely from your hand, walks well on leash, is not destructive with bedding and seems friendly and playful with large male dogs. Her negative - she will growl at the vet. We're working on de-sensitizing her with happy visits to the vet for treats and petting.

If you are interested in adopting, please email MalRescueDE@gmail.com for an application. Once your application is processed, a home visit is required. There is an adoption fee of $250 for each adult dog. Our dogs are healthy, spayed or neutered, up to date on shots, and heartworm negative.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zelda, a Augusta County Alaskan Malamute dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Alaskan Malamute for sale in Augusta County, or seeking a Alaskan Malamute dog from a breeder in Augusta County.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Augusta County already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Augusta County breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Augusta County paves the way for another one to be saved.
