Posted November 2016. Trudy is one lucky pup who found her way to her current persons after she had experienced severe abuse and neglect at a very young age. Initially Trudy was so scared, she would not even want to go potty outside. But with lots of patience, TLC and obedience training, Trudy quickly came around and blossomed into a beautiful, gentle and very energetic pup. She got along well with everyone and everything – other dogs, cats, and children. Friends would come over and play with her, she loved going to the dog park and meeting other pups. Her favorite thing was going to get ice cream!! She would even stand in line with everyone else waiting patiently for her turn! Trudy was just a fun dog to be with. Unfortunately this picture changed somewhat when her human mom became pregnant a little over two years ago. Trudy’s canine instincts were alerted as she sensed that her human mom needed protection. Trudy became more selective in who was acceptable in their home. Once the baby was born things settled down and Trudy became the baby’s best buddy. Despite Trudy’s more challenging behavior with strangers, things were going well. This changed again a few months back when human mom became pregnant again. Trudy’s protective instinct kicked in again and unfortunately she sometimes snarled or snapped at the baby. She never hurt the baby. After trying everything possible to overt such behavior and with a very heavy heart, Trudy’s humans decided that they needed to re-home her. They worry that with another baby in the house, Trudy’s behavior is not going to change or even get worse. Trudy would do best with dog savvy, active people in a home with no children and with someone who truly understands her needs: lots of attention, lots of exercise, stimulating activity, love and respect. We think that Trudy will make someone a wonderful companion and we believe that she can be truly happy again with people whose life style is suited for her. Trudy is very well house trained, she is quiet and overall well behaved. She loves to go for hikes, play in the yard, and snuggle on the couch! She knows commands and she is very eager to please her person.
Trudy is 3 years old, she weighs about 60 lbs., she is spayed, current on vaccinations including Rabies and she is on heartworm/flea prevention. If you think you can give Trudy the home she deserves please contact us with any questions you may have or fill out an adoption application on our web site:
No children please. Fenced in yard required.

We will provide educational support for those individuals who seek our assistance, believing that educating the public is one of the keys to keeping animals in their homes and preventing senseless euthanasia.
