Harley's Story...
young (~2.5 years), neutered male

Bone to be wild

This handsome dog will get your motor running! Harley lived a life of adventure and whatever came his way. He had no idea that someday, instead of living high on the hog he'd find himself homeless.

You see, this American made beauty had a dad that surrendered him to a Kentucky shelter when he was called to complete his tour of duty. Poor Harley! He was used to running with the wind in his fur and suddenly found himself behind bars. Scared, lonely and with no hope for a happy ending, Harley thought his best days were behind him.

That's when we heard about this little dog. Ever a sucker for a handsome face, we made arrangements to bring this great dog into CBR. Happily, we can report that Harley is now sharing a foster home with a dog AND a cat - imagine!

Up to date on shots, neutered, microchipped and rarin to go, this lean, clean, muscle machine (VERY svelte) is waiting for the day when he will again be someone's special
"baby". At just 2 years old - we know Harley has plenty of life left to enjoy.

If you think you could be the right match for this rebel with four paws please don't wait - ask about Harley. He's sure to bring a smile to your face. Harley's ideal family would have some active, older children and another friendly dog to play with!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harley, a Portland Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Portland, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
