Rebel's Story...
Rebel is a senior, male, Shepherd mix weighing 57 lbs. He is part of a bonded pair with Sissy who is the spotted dog with him in the attached photo (also see her profile on Adopt-a-pet). He is in great health for a senior dog and is current on his shots. He takes a daily low dose aspirin for normal aches and his vision is diminished a bit. Rebel is currently at Stone County Humane Society (SCHS) located at 17379 Highway 9 in Mountain View, Arkansas and arrived there on 9/14/16. Rebel's former owner brought him (and Sissy) there when he had to move to another city to care for his wife. We are looking for a loving home, preferably in the Arkansas/Missouri area, for both Rebel and Sissy where they can live out the rest of their lives. If you are interested in learning more about them, please contact SCHS 870-269-5200 or via email at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rebel, a Ocean Ridge Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Ocean Ridge, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Ocean Ridge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ocean Ridge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ocean Ridge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ocean Ridge paves the way for another one to be saved.
