Important Note

Bandit is best friends with Smokey. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Hi there! I'm Smokey. And I'm Bandit (sitting in front of my sister)! Bet you can't tell us apart, can you? We're both ten years old and - you guessed it - twins! Or at least litter mates, which is almost the same. Our Dad, Bryan, adopted us from the Humane Society when we were just two months old and we've been with him and his caregiver, Pat, ever since. But now Dad has to go live somewhere where he can get more help and Pat can't keep us, so we need to find a new furrever home. We love each other very much and really, really want to stay together. But let us tell you something about ourselves.

As you've probably guessed, I'm Bandit. I'm Smokey's big brother, a neutered DSH male, 12.1 pounds and also declawed and in great health. As Smokey said, I'm an outgoing guy. I love to be scratched on my ears and chin and at the base of my tail - ahhh! I'll follow you around and jump up next to you. I like attention and I'm not shy about getting it. I like to know what's going on, so I'll poke my nose into your papers or sit in front of that dumb computer thing you humans insist on staring at. I'm also a talker and will tell you exactly what I think.

As we said before, the two of us really want to stay together. We balance each other out, and we love playing and wrestling together. We'd miss each other so much! Do you think you might find it in your heart to give both of us a home? Please come by the Safe Place for Pets Welcome Center and meet us!

Come Meet Our Pets...

You'll find us out and about at adoption fairs and community events all over Colorado Springs! We have a physical building in Manitou Springs where we are able to bring pets for meetings, and some reside while awaiting their new families. We also create a monthly poster featuring our available pets which are displayed at locations throughout the community - please let us know if you can put our available pets flyer at your workplace. We update our community posters and pet listings monthly. For the most up-to-date info, please visit our website at www.safeplacepets.org

Our Adoption Process...

Please check out our available pets and contact us to let us know which one(s) interest you. We'll arrange a site visit to your home and a meet-and-greet with your prospective pet once we have had a phone chat to determine if our rescue pet is a good fit for you and you for him/her. If you and the pet decide it's true love, we'll have you fill out an adoption contract and ask for an adoption donation (rather than a fee). A certificate of adoption is mailed to you once the process is complete.
