Bandit's Story...
Hi there! I'm Smokey. And I'm Bandit (sitting in front of my sister)! Bet you can't tell us apart, can you? We're both ten years old and - you guessed it - twins! Or at least litter mates, which is almost the same. Our Dad, Bryan, adopted us from the Humane Society when we were just two months old and we've been with him and his caregiver, Pat, ever since. But now Dad has to go live somewhere where he can get more help and Pat can't keep us, so we need to find a new furrever home. We love each other very much and really, really want to stay together. But let us tell you something about ourselves.

As you've probably guessed, I'm Bandit. I'm Smokey's big brother, a neutered DSH male, 12.1 pounds and also declawed and in great health. As Smokey said, I'm an outgoing guy. I love to be scratched on my ears and chin and at the base of my tail - ahhh! I'll follow you around and jump up next to you. I like attention and I'm not shy about getting it. I like to know what's going on, so I'll poke my nose into your papers or sit in front of that dumb computer thing you humans insist on staring at. I'm also a talker and will tell you exactly what I think.

As we said before, the two of us really want to stay together. We balance each other out, and we love playing and wrestling together. We'd miss each other so much! Do you think you might find it in your heart to give both of us a home? Please come by the Safe Place for Pets Welcome Center and meet us!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bandit, a Colorado Springs Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Colorado Springs, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Colorado Springs.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Colorado Springs already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Colorado Springs breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Colorado Springs paves the way for another one to be saved.
