Say hello to our sweet Cade! This handsome boy is trying to decide whether he is still a puppy or should he act like an 11 month old teenager! When you meet our Cade, he will give you a wiggly welcome and continues his wiggles all the way out to the play yard. He will invite every human or any other canine into his "Happy Place" and his happiness becomes contagious. Cade enjoys playing with tennis balls (not sure what to do with them) and every toy in the play yard. After he raced from toy to toy, he sought out his handler for some snuggles and lap time ( he is a leaner and loves connection with his handler). Cade is growing mentally into his teenager age and is still learning how to play without using his mouth. He would be an awesome candidate for our obedience classes offered here at our shelter so that Cade can please his humans and be the best teenager( grownup) that he can be! In our weekly socialization, Cade played nicely with his canine neighbors and adapted to their different play styles. He could be the life of the party! On his walks, he responded nicely to several leash corrections and performed several basic commands all the while watching his handler! He so wants to please !! If you have room in your hearts and home for our wiggly and happy Cade, please bring your kids and canines to our shelter to meet our sweet boy!!

About Atlanta Humane Society - Alpharetta

About Our Shelter...

Atlanta Humane Society (AHS) is a 501(c)3 tax exempt nonprofit (IRS Tax ID# 58-0685900) and the oldest private charitable organization in Atlanta, founded in 1873 following a visit to the city by Robert E. Lee. The animal charity was originally chartered to protect women, children, and animals and remained a child protection and animal welfare society for 79 years. AHS, now a widely recognized pet adoption center, clinic, and educational program provider, was originally located on Marietta Street and moved to its location at 981 Howell Mill Road in the 1930s. Atlanta Humane Society's Mansell Road Adoption Facility was opened in December of 2011 in Alpharetta.

It is our mission to prevent neglect, abuse, cruelty and exploitation of animals and to assure that their interests and well-being are fully, effectively and humanely protected by an aware and caring society.

Atlanta Humane Society places approximately 8,000 animals into forever homes each year. AHS is committed to finding homes for all adoptable pets. We do not euthanize adoptable animals, and there are no time limits for the animals once they are in our care. We only humanely euthanize those animals suffering from significant medical issues or that pose behavior concerns. We are proud to be a part of the solution to ending pet homelessness and overpopulation in the Southeast United States.
