Lady Bird is a courtesy listing for a friend of PAWS. PAWS is assisting this family with lovingly rehoming her by posting her on the PAWS website so she can be seen by the wonderful people who visit the PAWS, ADOPT-A-PET and Petfinder websites, looking for their new best friends.
Lady Bird is all love.
She is approximately 9 months old and was adopted from the Cuyahoga Country Shelter in September of this year. Lady Bird is weighs about 52 lbs, she is spayed and current with vaccinations. She is a beautiful dog! She is high energy, but housebroken and knows basic commands. Continued training in basic manners to assist with jumping and general obedience is recommended.
During her time at the shelter, Lady Bird was the star of play group; however, based on our experience, her ideal furever home is one where she is the only pup. If the pack includes other male dogs or docile, submissive female dogs, this may also be a fit.
There will be a rehoming fee and the current owners are happy to schedule times to meet Lady Bird. All visits will take place at potential new home and current owners will conduct interview along with assessment of environment to ensure it is a good fit for Lady Bird. The second photo shows Lady Bird in the background.

About Public Animal Welfare Society (PAWS Ohio)

About Our Rescue Group...

The Public Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) was founded in 1976. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization considered to be one of Ohio’s most reputable long-standing cat and dog humane rescue groups.

Our group is dedicated to the rescue of pets in Northeastern Ohio. Our mission is to rescue stray and/or abused cats and dogs and place them in good homes. It is a PAWS policy to adopt animals to responsible homes only in the greater Cleveland area. We provide medical care to rescued animals and foster them in our own homes. We also make sure that they are spayed or neutered so that they do not continue the cycle of births that result in more pets than homes. The advantage of adopting a fostered animal is that we know all about our adoptable pets! They have lived with us and we know their personalities, habits, likes and dislikes. We can help you find the perfect companion for your home and lifestyle! We are a no kill organization (the only time we euthanize is on the advice of a vet in order to end suffering where no hope of recovery exists). Everything we do is out of love for the animals.

PAWS philosophy is that kindness to animals helps build a better world for all of us. Through the generosity of other caring individuals, we can ensure that animals who come into the care of PAWS will never again be alone, hungry, sick, afraid, or in pain.

Our mission is
•To provide for the welfare, medical care, temporary housing, and adoption of dogs and cats in northeast Ohio.
•To Work for the prevention of cruelty to all animals.
•To work to form coalitions and working relationships with other local and national humane organizations.
•To actively create, promote and implement a humane education program.
•To reduce the over population of cats and dogs in northeast Ohio through education.

Come Meet Our Pets...

You can find out more about PAWS Ohio and about our pets on our website, We show our pets at adopt-a-thons around the greater Cleveland area, and partner with PetSmarts by using their in store cage spaces. We have PetSmart Coordinators for each of the two PetSmarts we are in, and a PetSmart Supervisor who oversees all of the Coordinators.

Our Adoption Process...

We have an adoption screening process, an adoption fee, and a follow up process for every adoption.
