Six-year-old Bobby came to us with chronic ear infections which had to be relieved by surgically removing his ear canals. The procedure left him mostly deaf, but he can still hear some loud noises, and he hears much better in the house where there isn’t so much other noise. We think he must hear like you would if you had ear plugs in. The good news is that he is feeling worlds better now!
Having recovered fully, Bobby is ready to find a forever home! He would do best with someone who is home a lot; otherwise, we would love for him to have a furry friend to keep him company. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs as well as cats. He does like to go after little critters outside and will jump a four-foot fence, so he will need either a tall fence or be kept on a tie-out with supervision.
Bobby would benefit from some training, but watch out! This smart and observant boy learns quickly, including things you might not want him to learn, like opening the screen door! Given his poor hearing, he should definitely be taught certain boundaries, and we would be happy to talk with you about his training and safety needs.
Let us know if you would like to meet Bobby! He is being fostered in the Twin Cities metro area, and his adoption fee is $290.
Please see Bobby's webpage for additional updates and photos: http://ragom.org/avail.cgi/Available/dog?dog_id=7133.
