Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jimmu means the first emperor of Japan, and that is an appropriate name for this regal 8.5 year old black and tan Shiba Inu. This 24 pound male pup lived many years in a puppy mill; fortunately when he was too old to be useful for breeding, DC SIR was able to rescue him, otherwise he would have been put to sleep. Because he was so sweet and gentle, DC SIR found him a nice family with children, something they seldom do with rescues. Though the family said they adored him, they decided he was not a good fit with their family because he was not as affectionate as they had hoped in interacting with their children. They did take good care of him and had only nice things to say about him. The shiba inu is just not the right breed for everyone. So now he is back looking for his forever family. Could it be you? Jimmu is still good with dogs, cats and kids, and he is very smart! He has learned how to play with puzzles and he will follow his foster parents around and play.
