Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, December 3rd from 1-4pm and Sunday, December 4th from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, November 19th from 1-4pm and Sunday, November 20th from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.
Starla is a 3 year old Cockapoo mix. She has a non-shedding coat that is an option for those who have allergies or simply want a dog who doesn't shed. She will need regular grooming which she had not had prior to coming to us. She weighs 14lbs. So she's a perfectly sized girl.
We received a call from an owner that wanted to rehome her. The family had actually been on the bus when someone had her and said that they were taking her to the shelter. They took her instead but they didn't have the means to care for her and so we were contacted. We happily took her in. She desperately needed to meet our groomer and wow, what a fabulous job she did! She is on the shy side initially. She backs up if you approach her too quickly. But within a day or so she is your best friend. She's so sweet and loving.
Starla is a lover girl. She gets along well with other dogs. She currently is fostered with big and small dogs. She is an option to join a home that has another dog or to go to doggy day camp or the dog park.
Starla is only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years. She is an option for a home that has children over the age of 9.
**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.

Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply.
