Hi, I am Emma. I came from Texas where somebody left me to grow bigger and bigger in my puppy collar. I am almost healed from that and I still love all people and dogs. I haven’t figured out cats yet but if they hiss at me I leave them alone.

My foster mom took me on a walk and I found our car. She was so impressed that I took her right back to where we started. I am a good tracker.

I am so grateful for being rescued that my favorite thing to do is to hug people. I love to put my arms around my foster mom’s neck just like I saw her friends do. I also love to hug her leg because I can reach better.

I had this great trip to something called a vet and she was wonderful. I got yummy treats the whole time I was there. She said I will be a very healthy dog as soon as I get rid of this heartworm. I weigh about 27 pounds now but with good food I intend to be a whopping 32 pounds one day.

I love children but remember I must hug them and lay on them and play with them. I love to play tug of war, ball and just run around. I would be a great agility dog although I am not sure what that is yet. I would like a fenced in back yard where I could play with toys and people. I would love to run with someone or walk a lot otherwise I won’t get tired enough to sleep.

I am crate trained for the night but wouldn’t want to be left all day.

Its an application, two phone interviews and a home visit.

Our Adoption Process...

First you must fill out an application which we will review. Then we will do a phone interview, reference check and finally a home visit before a dog is placed in your home. We ONLY adopt to homes where the dog is an indoor dog, part of the family and treated as such. We stress excellent nutrition, proper training and follow up with all our adopters.

We are probably have one of the more thorough and difficult adoption processes... and we love that people want to adopt and don't want to discourage adopters! So please, if you're in a hurry, or not an exceptional furever home - please try other rescues or a SHELTER is a great option too!
