My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buster is a very sweet, bouncy, athletic, loving and timid, 19-month-old, 13.5-pound, male Yorkshire Terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian.

He’s great with other dogs upon proper introduction and he adores leashed walks and romps in the yard.

He is a very special intelligent and loving dog looking for a special patient person to dote on him as he does on them.

Buster does not know any formal commands yet, but he seems to understand what you say and follows his person intently and closely. He bonds quickly and is very loyal. He loves to roll out on the couch and let you pet his belly.

When taken out on a regular basis, he is housebroken and crate-trained.

Buster loves women. He has not been abused, just under-socialized with children and men. I’d worry in a home with children that he’d sneak out the door and get lost … he is fast and hard to catch, but not aggressive.

Buster is intrigued with cats … TOO MUCH and is best in a home with dogs, but without felines.

He is very healthy, neutered, de-wormed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, micro-chipped, heartworm tested and on monthly preventative. Due to his Yorkie hair, he does not shed, but he should probably be groomed quarterly. His adoption fee of $300 benefits rescued pets.

To meet and possibly adopt Buster, please contact Sheri at sheri@petraits.com to fill out an adoption application and then call her at 773-777-2891 to schedule an appointment to meet him. He is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood – near Lawrence and Ashland.
