Dakota's Story...
Name: Dakota
Breed: Siberian Husky x Alaskan Malamute
Gender: male
Age: 5 years
Cat: NO
Dogs: good – larger only
Kids: good

Howdy! I am Dakota. My photo doesn’t do my size justice. The camera caught my good side  I am quite a bit larger than a standard Siberian Husky. I am a big hunk that loves to cuddle. If you want a spot on your bed, you had better get there before me! We can get active together; maybe even take up some mushing activities. I pull quite hard on leash, so unless I am going to have an outlet for my energy, I would benefit from obedience classes to learn to walk better on leash. I love the outdoors and need room to run. No apartments please. While I am generally good with dogs, please no little dogs or Rottweilers. I have had a bad experience with a Rottweiler and I do not like them now. I am good with dog savvy and respectful children. I know a few basic commands like sit, no, and stay. I have not yet been tried in a crate, I will try this out once I arrive in Tweed, ON from Alberta. I am neutered, UTD on all of my vaccinations, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $350.

-adoption contract and fees apply

-located in Tweed, ON - $350

-in foster – needs foster or adopter

-looking for a home since November 2016

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dakota, a Cavan Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute for sale in Cavan, or seeking a Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute dog from a breeder in Cavan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cavan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cavan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cavan paves the way for another one to be saved.
