Gabby's Story...
Gabby is a friendly coonhound girl who came to us from a central Virginia shelter. She's a purebred bluetick and very pretty ! Gabby is very outgoing and loves attention. She's a high energy young hound and would do best with an active owner, or another energetic playful dog. Gabby is not food aggressive, but is very food motivated. She is easy to train because of this, but may also seek to get into the trash or any food left out within reach. She settles well in a crate and is quiet, walks well on a leash with her harness. Her housebreaking is coming along well and just needs some reinforcement. Gabby would be okay with older kids, no cats please. Gabby is between 1.5 and 2 yrs old, she weighs 45 - 50 lbs. She has arrived and is ready for visits.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gabby, a Lexington Bluetick Coonhound/Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bluetick Coonhound/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Lexington, or seeking a Bluetick Coonhound/Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Lexington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lexington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lexington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bluetick Coonhound/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Bluetick Coonhound/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lexington paves the way for another one to be saved.
