Callie's Story...
**PLEASE READ TO THE END FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION.**

Callie is a 5-year-old, 6-lb cutie. She is a tad scared and it takes her a couple minutes to warm up to you, but she is super nice when she gets to know you. Callie likes warm covers and cuddling, and she will definitely be the type of chi that "picks her person." (All you chi owners know exactly what I mean.) Callie is a doll. She was an owner surrender and brought to the New Braunfels Humane Society. The shelter contacted us because Callie and her kennel mate, Leche, did not have any time left to be adopted. She is ready for the next chapter and her fairytail ending.

From foster mom, Becky: ''Thought I’d share this funny photo of my foster, Callie. She loves being on my lap so much that she doesn’t even mind when Mini lays on her head. She is so lovable!
Callie is at the bottom, a very loving girl with perfect manners and quiet as a mouse."

If you would like to adopt Callie, please fill out an application at www.TexasChihuahuaRescue.com. Her adoption fee, including vetting paperwork and microchip registration to adopter, is $200.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Callie, a San Antonio Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
