Meet Muggs, Muggs is a 5 year neutered blue heeler, border collie, Australian Shepard cross. Muggs is very cute, but Muggs is looking for a home that can give him lots of time for exercise due to his breeds he is very high energy.

Muggs also has separation anxiety and has shown signs of destruction when left alone for a long period of time.

So Muggs will need some one who will be home with him for most of the day.
Muggs has also been very picky with his doggy friends here at the shelter, so we are recommending he be the only dog in the house hold.

If you are looking for an exercise buddy to go for long hikes with, Muggs could be your man. Our viewing hours are Monday - Saturday, 1pm - 4pm.

About Our Shelter...

See our website at www.spca.bc.ca/Alberni for all of our current adoption prices, hours of operation, etc.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
