Facts about Makayla

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 218295
  • Hair: Short
Meet sweet Makayla-a young girl who has lived all of her short life in Tomales. She has had little experience being around people. She has a gentle spirit that will thrive in a home with kindly folks who will give her plenty of time and be patient as she discovers how wonderful an indoor life with a family can be.

In that regard, we think she will do well in almost any home situation--with adults of any age or with a family with polite children, aged 10 and above. She will need a small space to call her own, complete with a cocoon-like bed, bowls for food and water, a litter box, a scratcher, and some cat toys. Makayla is young cat, and her playful nature is sure to emerge once she feels safe and has adapted to her new home.

Visit her regularly in her special place, offering pets and words of reassurance and comfort. Once she starts to approach you as you enter, she is likely ready to gradually explore the rest of her new home--one room at a time. Be sure to leave a clear path back to her comfort zone!

Children will need to approach her calmly and handle her gently. Makayla is just finding out now what people are like, and we want to make a good impression!

Our guess is that you will be amply rewarded for the extra time and patience she will need up front. In the end, Makayla will become your loving and grateful, constant companion for years to come.
