Myrte's Story...
About Myrtle
They say good things come in little packages & that describes Myrtle. She is petite in body, but has a large personality. She is always the talkative one in her litter. She usually leads the way to explore new places & make an escape. Myrtle came to us when her mom picked a garage that belonged to one of our foster families to have her babies in mid-August. All have been very healthy & sweet kittens. All are playful & curious, but Myrtle is one of the most adventurous of the group. She is soft & cuddly once she tires out a bit. She has had contact with other cats & cat friendly dogs. She likely would be fine with children. Myrtle has been dewormed & vaccinated appropriate for her age & tested for Feline Leukemia & FIV; she will be spayed & microchipped when she is a little older. Myrtle is sure to grow up to a fun & pretty little girl. To meet her, call 540/586-6100 or go to bhsva.org to get an Adoption Application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Myrte, a Bedford Domestic Longhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Domestic Longhair kitten from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
