My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What is your name? Tory, but I also go by Tory Bo Bory, Monkey, and Lady

How old are you? I’m a little over a year old. Old enough to be out of the destructive puppy stage, but still full of puppy energy!

How much do you weigh? Rumor has it, 35 pounds (but I may have gained a couple of lbs recently, cuz you know… holidays)

What do you look like? I’ve got a big old Frenchie head and a Staffie body. My foster mom says I’m adorable and I smile a lot.

What do you like to eat? Basically anything with the exception of ice. My foster brother gets small ice cubes as treats, but I think he’s getting bamboozled.

What kind of personality do you have? Sweet and silly. I will smooch you and do crazy things to make you laugh. I LOVE to play and run but I can be cool and calm as well. I’m pretty much the whole package.

Describe your perfect day: Any day that involves a long walk exploring, throwing the tennis ball, and snuggling with my peeps is the best day ever.

What is your favorite toy? Nylabones are my life. I also love stuffies but my foster mom says I like to “murder” them so I guess I probably should stick to non-stuffed toys.

Do you know any tricks? Making you fall in love with me ;) Too cheesy? I can also shake, I’m polite like that.

What scares you? The Roomba vacuum is pure evil, I don’t understand how my humans don’t know this. I try and protect them from it, but they just laugh at me.

Have you been around children? Do you like them? I don’t know. I’m like a “French bull in a China shop” so I’m guessing kids over 10 could be good since I might knock over small humans. I’m super friendly and love everyone.

Do you like cats? Let's just say that's probably not a good idea. If they are like squirrels, I will chase them until the ends of the Earth.

How do you feel about other dogs? I love other dogs! Although I might be better with dogs my size or bigger. I think small dogs that are assertive might be Ok, but I tend to run right over (literally) my foster brother who’s a 12 year old pug.

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be? On a trail walk/hike with my peeps. I LOVE exploring and being with the people I love.

How is your health? I’m super healthy! I’m getting over a minor ear infection that I get medicine for. I’m not a fan of getting medicine put in my ears, but I’m very patient about it since I know it will make me feel better.

Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion? Just my mom, dad, and pug brother. I love both of my foster parents. Dad plays with me and throws the ball a lot, and mom snuggles me and smooshes my face. I wish my brother wanted to play with me more, but he’s a grumpy old man.

Where do you hang out when you are home alone? I hang out in my crate. It’s my safe place.

Where do you sleep? I sleep in my crate, which happens to be in my parent’s bedroom.

Do you like walking on a leash? I mean, if I have to. I’m still learning leash manners. I love to explore so I stop every 5 feet to check something out. I will pull a little bit, but I stop if you tell me to. I’ll probably need some more practice with my leash manners to be the perfect walking/running companion.

Do you have any "not-so-great" habits that we should know about? For instance, do you bark or dig in the yard? My foster mom says I’m the easiest foster dog she’s ever had! With that being said, I do tend to push my foster brother around and get a little jealous if I feel like he’s getting more attention. I’m also working on not jumping up on people when I first meet them, but I’m just SO excited!

Are you house trained? (Meaning do you go potty outside) Um, yeah, I’m a lady. I will sit by the door when I need to do my biz.

Do you like playing in water? I’m pretty sure I will love water. I’ve only been allowed to dip my toes in the lake at my foster parent’s house, but I REALLY want to go in!!!

What do you love about your foster family? They play with me and love on me! I can be a bit rambunctious at times, but they know after I get out my puppy energy, I turn into a pile of calm, sweet mush!

What was your life like before being brought into Foster/Rescue? My human was a good person who fell on hard times. He lost our home, so we lived in a car for a while. He loved me enough to know I deserved a home where I could run around and have my own cozy bed. I’m so lucky he brought me to Norcal Bully Breed rescue!

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

Tory's adoption donation is $200.

Interested in meeting Tory or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.
