Jack's Story...
Hellooooooo! My name's Jack, what's yours? I'm a 3 1/2 year old coonhound, and am looking for a new family. I was recently brought to the shelter by my owner, who was no longer able to afford to care for me. I really miss him, but hopefully I'll find someone who will love me just as much as he did! I didn't come to the shelter alone, my best friend Suzie came with me! She's a 12 year old border collie mix. We would really love to find a new home where we can continue to live together. We've already lost our owner, we really don't want to lose each other too.

Prior to being adopted I will be up to date on vaccinations, neutered and will have a microchip. I would do well in a home with other dogs, and also like kids. I've never been around cats, so we don't know what I think of them. All I know is that I'll be your very best friend forever and ever if you just give me a chance! I can be a bit scared when I first meet new people, but it doesn't take long for me to warm up. Stop by the shelter anytime it's open to meet me and Suzie....we'd love to see you! The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jack, a Youngwood Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Coonhound dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound breeders who help with Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
