Moxy (Neutered)'s Story...
"Moxy" is a handsome senior male chocolate Labrador Retriever who arrived at the HSOV on November 16, 2016 after a Good Samaritan found him (or rather he found her) in the Lower Salem Ohio area. It seems this good-looking gentleman showed up at her house, and she kept thinking he would return to his home. After a couple of days, that didn't seem likely :( So the elderly lady who had befriended him brought him to our shelter hoping that we might be able to locate his family. "Moxy" has a chocolate brown coat, a long tail, and a classic Labrador face with a liver-colored nose, amber-colored eyes, and long floppy ears. This big fellow is extremely friendly and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. "Moxy" walks gently on a leash and is content just to be close to someone. He has already been neutered and weighs 86 lbs. "Moxy" will be available for adoption on November 20, 2016 if he is not reclaimed before that date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Moxy (Neutered), a Marietta Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
