Carmel's Story...

Carmel was born approximately July 12, 2015.  She came from Craig with her sister, Phantom .  After a rough start in life, she was initially bottle-fed and then sent over to Ketchikan to a foster home with SOFA. These two sisters were then transported to Juneau to a foster home who ended up adopting them. However sadly, after 9 months the foster family's life circumstances changed and they were no longer able to care for the girls. As is SOFA's policy, Carmel and Phantom came back into our care. They are looking for a quiet, caring home who will give them lots of love and patience to help them adjust. Carmel is the more out-going of the two , and will explore and come looking for love and attention. Both girls would do best with a stable routine and a family to call their own.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carmel, a Ketchikan Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Ketchikan, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Ketchikan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ketchikan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ketchikan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ketchikan paves the way for another one to be saved.
