Cecil, was just a 5 month old puppy and weighed only 8 pounds when he was hit by a car and then turned into the Houston shelter (BARC) in June of this year. He had severe de-gloving injuries where skin and tissue were torn off down to the tendon. Upon further exam and x-rays, it was discovered that he also had a fractured pelvis, a fractured femur, and a crushed ankle joint. Per the vet, it is a miracle that Cecil is  alive!
Cecil had extensive surgery to address the fractures and received intensive wound care to heal the skin injuries.
Cecil is looking great now, and is ready to start looking for his perfect forever home. He is a funny and sweet boy, and so happy to be learning all about love, cuddles, toys, and kisses.

(Cecil and Blair have been fostering together, and are best of friends! We'd love to see them get to stay together. They are both extra sweet!) Email to meet them.

Our Adoption Process...

Red Collar Rescue works hard to find the perfect home for all the dogs and cats in our care. Listed below is the sequence of events that we go through to assure that our pets and our applicants are the perfect match for each other:

1. Fill out and return our adoption application form.

2. After receiving your application, we will verify with your vet the care on your current or previous animals.

3. We will contact you to discuss your current situation and which pet you are interested in adopting.

4. After discussion, we will arrange a time for you to meet your prospective new family member.

5. If the initial meeting goes well, we make an appt and bring the pet to your home to meet all family members - human and furry.

6. Upon agreement by all parties, the adoption is finalized by signing the adoption contract and making an adoption donation for your newest family member.
