MEET ROCCO

This sweet little 11 month old black Dox/Pom mix is a gorgeous new member of the Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. Puppy Brigade and he is as sure to melt your heart as he did ours. His current family has found themselves in difficult circumstances and are unable to keep him, so they reached out to ODR, Inc. to help ROCCO find his new forever family. He is a great companion pet and loves to be at your side all day long. He really loves his daily walks in the morning and evening and car rides to the beach. ROCCO plays with other dogs and loves to play catch, go for walks and is house and crate trained.

ROCCO is just a puppy and while he has had a few weeks of puppy basic training, he is still a bit unsure of himself...he has had a lot of changes in his short life...so he will do best in a family with a patient, loving stay at home parent (work from home or retired) who can take a bit of time to get to know him, make him feel safe and comfortable and teach him all the things he needs to learn to achieve his full potential as a member of the family. He's also getting some puppy training while here at the Rescue. ROCCO doesn't like being picked up by young children so he will do best as the only child in his new home so he can give you all his love and affection.

Like all Dachshunds, ROCCO is high energy and enjoys playing and warming his little bones in the sunshine, so along with regular walks around his neighborhood, ROCCO needs a secure fenced yard to run around and explore safely. While small in stature, doxies are big on personality and don't generally do well in apartments, with all of the noises and traffic that come with multiple dwellings in a confined space. To best set up our doxies and their new families for success, ODR, Inc., adopt to families who live in single family homes with secure fenced yards.

OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 12 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:

All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $495, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give ROCCO a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net. The adoption committee will attempt to be in contact with you within 48-72 hours. Please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.

About Oregon Dachshund Rescue Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Oregon Dachshund Rescue Inc. is a 501 c3 non profit with 25 years experience of rescuing Dachshunds. My goal is to provide homes for unwanted, special needs and abandoned Dachshunds. I do not breed or sell Dachshunds for a profit. I receive into rescue 1 to 3 doxies PER DAY. Before adoption all of my rescues are spayed and neutered, made current on rabies, DHPP, bordetella, fecal and dental if needed. The rescues are also groomed, nails done and one month Advantage treatment. I take great pride in finding wonderful forever homes for my rescue Dachshunds. My criteria is very strict because I want to insure the safety and future of each one of these very special rescues. I do not give refunds of any kind for any reason but will offer an exchange for another Dachshund, if you choose. The dog's character, health and physical condition represented by this Rescue is in good faith. The new owner(s) must agree to release, hold harmless and forever discharge Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. from any and all claims arising from adoption of any of our rescue Dachshunds.
