Facts about Tato

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Gray Or Blue (Mostly)
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 10804305
  • Hair: Short

Tato is a special boy who needs a really special person. He was born blind and deaf, and like most disabled cats, he navigates the world so amazingly well, it's hard to believe he can't see or hear. He is playful, affectionate and he absolutely loves to cuddle with people. He's even started cleaning the other cats in the house. BUT, because he cannot see or hear, we believe (after many veterinary and behaviorist consults) that he uses vibrations from sound on his whiskers to navigate his surroundings. So he yowls very loudly. He also experiences the world through his mouth, so when he gets excited, he can nip and bite. He is on medication to calm him down a bit and it's working very well. His forever home will need to be able to play with him with toys and even work on positive reinforcement training with him - which he loves. That kind of interaction tires him out and makes him a very happy cat. AND he is great with the litter box.

Tato is between 1-2 years old. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. His adoption fee is a $50 donation to Family Forever Animal Foundation. He has a lifetime return policy and his former foster will take him back if the adoption doesn't work out.

If you are the type of person who has a huge heart and patience for his special needs, he will reward you with love 10x over.

About Family Forever Animal Foundation

About Our Rescue Group...

FFAF is an all volunteer foundation that seeks to enable Central Florida families to keep their beloved companion animals at home - where they belong.

FFAF provides education, support and resources so that pet guardians can maintain safe, healthy and loving home environments to their companion animals. Through promoting responsible guardianship, we hope to reduce the number of animals surrendered to local shelters and rescues and to prevent countless animals from being euthanized.

Our Adoption Process...

Adopters must complete an application and speak with an adoption screener before meeting one of our fosters. Adoption fees are $75 for animals over 5 months of age and $90 for those under 5 months.
