About ARF Animal Rescue Foundation

About Our Rescue Group...

ARF is a 5 year old organization which works to reduce the euthanasia rate in our public shelters. We are foster based, In addition to taking dogs and cats into our foster/adopt program, we also provide medicine for shelter pets, including vaccines, hw testing, flea treatment and temperament evaluation. We assist other rescues by providing medical and transport support for animals in their care, We operate several community based programs of interdiction, such as underwriting the individual participation in the city's low cost s/n program, providing food for the pets of clients of the local food bank,, We operate the only TRNM feral cat program in our county We raised the money for a Dog Park in our community and have a therapy dog assisted reading program for young readers. We "teach"a course at our local college in which social leadership skills are taught by students training our foster dogs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We have regularly scheduled adoptions at Petsmart in New Braunfels, and hold quarterly large scale adoptions at D&D Texas Outfitters. These are usually in conjunction with other rescues. Cats are permanently available at Petsmart.
We are available by appointment at your convenience.

Our Adoption Process...

We recover a portion of the expenses we incur in providing for the medical needs of our animals. All receive a wellness check and appropriate treatments, all are heart worm tested, all are spayed or neutered, and many receive basic obedience training. Our fees are $100 for adult dogs, cats and kittens. Dogs under 12 months of age are $125.
We ask adopters to sign a contract providing for the future care of the animal, and a home visit may be required.
