Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Ms Pixie. She is a six year old, 8.5 pound, beautiful Pom. She came to us from a commercial breeder and has done wonderfully in rescue.
Pixie is very sweet. She LOVES everyone that she meets and dances and spins for attention. She is great with dogs of all sizes and cats. She loves attention. Her favorite thing is to be held like a baby for tummy rubs. She is a lap warmer and a bed snuggler. She loves her rides in the car and her walks.
Pixie is crate and leash trained. She is working on house training and about 90% there but her future owner will need to make sure that training is completed in her new home.
Pixie will need a calm home. She absolutely has to have a physically fenced yard or fenced area that leads directly from a door into the house. She will need someone that can spend time with her as her time before now was spent without human companionship for 6 years and she craves it. Pixie's forever owner needs to be someone not working a typical 8 hour day, someone that works very part time - only a few hours a day - or someone that works from home or is retired. She is not a candidate for a split shift home. Pixie will do best in an adult household but would be fine with visiting children. She would do best with someone that likes to take their dog with them; for walks, in the car, visiting, to continue to expose her to all the things that she missed those yeas in a puppy mill.
At Star-Mar we are natural care givers. Pixie has been on a species appropriate diet; no grain, raw. Her's has been a dehydrated raw BY Honest Kitchen but there are many options from fresh raw, to frozen raw, freeze dried or dehydrated. We do blood titer testing instead of randomly vaccinating and only vaccinate should titers show they are needed. We do not use any toxic flea or heartworm preventative and place our dogs in homes that are either already natural care givers or are willing to make that switch. We do not advocate no vaccines or no vetting but only when necessary. We protect our dogs from diseases and parasites but do it through non toxic products. Our dogs are living in toxic free environments and living healthy, active and disease free into their late teens and early 20's. We'll show you how....
If you feel that your lifestyle and environment can meet Pixie's adoption requirements please contact Martha at learymjri@aol.com or call 330-466-3667 or 330-262-0515 for an application or more information. Pixie's adoption will require an approved application and home visit. The adoption must be completed with the adopter coming to the foster home. Adoption fee is $275. Pixie is being fostered in Columbus, OH.
