Tess is a beautiful calico kitty who raised her litter of kittens last spring when she was rescued from north Carolina. Tess has been living in foster care and is gaining confidence with people every day. She was very very scared when she first arrived- preferring to hide behind a bookcase rather than interact with people. Her kittens all found hoes quickly and after that she has gradually started to look for affection from her foster parents. She has made big strides in the past month-coming out and right up to them to wind herself around and between their legs at feeding time, and has even started to sleep on the bed with them. Tess LOVES other cats, and is very playful with them. She is about 2 1/2 years old and will chase balls and little mice around. She seems fearful of string and feather toys at this point, but responds to words and soft calling of her name by rolling over and allowing for pets. If you are looking for a kitty companion, and want to experience the wonderful feeling of helping to bring a scared kitty around to trust, then Tess is your girl. She will hide at first- we are very sure- in her new surroundings, but plenty of time and patience will allow her to adjust at her own pace, and will eventually permit her to trust you. Tess is so worth it- and will definitely reward you in time- with her littler sandpaper kisses of love!
