Soft as velvet and sweet as pie, Vera is going to melt your heart when you meet her. She and her two brothers, Chuck and Dave, came to a public shelter in August with their mama, and after they were ready to be separated, mama cat went up for adoption and these three little babies went into a fantastic foster home. They had a rough first few weeks between a kitten cold and a bout with ringworm, but now that they're treated and completely healthy, they're ready to start their lives with their forever families! Vera, Chuck and Dave are all estimated to have been born in mid-July and are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and de-wormed. They are absolutely, amazingly, stunningly affectionate due to all of the handling they had at a young age and love to sit on your lap, be held, and receive lots of love and attention. They'll do great in just about any kitten-loving household who wants a snugglebuddy or two! A with all of our young kittens, we aim to place them in pairs or into homes with another resident cat for their best interest. If you're looking for a cuddly cat to add to your family, or a pair or adorably sweet siblings, look no further! Location: Foster Home

About Contra Costa Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Contra Costa Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that operates such programs as Adoptions, Kitty Corner, Spay/Neuter Assistance, and AniMeals. We are not affiliated with any other rescue organization, humane society or spca.

Our mission is to empower our community to improve the quality of life for animals and decrease euthanasia rates. Through our programs and services, we connect with individuals and private and public organizations to adopt pets, reduce the number of unwanted animals, and educate the public to foster compassion, responsibility and respect towards animals.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our business office and Kitty Corner are located at 171 Mayhew Way, Suite 101 in Pleasant Hill, CA 94523.

Kitty Corner houses adult, senior, and special-needs cats (sometimes teenage kittens). Kitty Corner is open for adoptions on Saturday, Sunday & Monday from 12-3pm or during the week (preferably by appointment to make sure someone's available to show you the cats).

All of our dogs, puppies and kittens are located off-site in foster homes and can be met by appointment once adoption applications have been received and approved.

Our Adoption Process...

CCHS has animals available for adoption through a number of different avenues. Many of our kittens and all dogs are cared for in loving foster homes until they are adopted. Teenage, adult, senior and special-needs cats reside at Kitty Corner, an on-site, private cat shelter where cats are allowed to free-roam at all times, lounge in sunny windows and on comfy cat towers, and play to their heart's galore. Similarly, we also have animals available for adoption through our Re-Homing Assistance Program, where we help to advertise animals that caregivers are no longer able to keep.

If you are interested in meeting any of the animals listed on our website, please complete an adoption application unless otherwise noted!
