Tracey's Story...
Tracey came into the shelter as a stray with her two sisters (who have already found loving homes). Tracey is a very special girl and everyone here at the shelter has a soft spot for her, and are hoping that she finds a loving home soon! During Tracey's stay here at the shelter, we noticed that she walks a little different with her hind legs, and sometimes has a hard time walking on the tile floor here and she goes splay legged (her hind legs). We have taken her to the Vet and it is believed that she has/had an unknown neurological disorder that could have occurred when she was a small kitten and her difficulty with her hind legs is a result. This certainly does not stop her from being a kitten though! She still runs and plays, just like any kitten would do! Tracey just needs a family that can take care of her needs. It may be easier for her to have floors or an area that has carpet or rugs so that she can walk easier on them. We are not sure of what this neurological disorder means long term for Tracey, so a home that is prepared to take on her care and have a close relationship with their Vet to ensure that she gets the best of care would be best for her. Tracey is waiting for that special someone to come and look past her disorder and see her for the sweet, loving girl that she really is!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tracey, a Chambersburg Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chambersburg, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chambersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chambersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chambersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chambersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
