Facts about Olive

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Black (All)
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Olive came to us with a litter of kittens. She was very thin at first but now looks much healthier, both in weight and in the quality of her coat. Despite her youth (just over 1 year old), Olive is more of a sedate kind of cat. She is fairly quiet, so while she does not purr when you hold her, she nudges her head into your hand and obviously enjoys the contact.

About Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley

About Our Shelter...

We are a non-profit, no-kill shelter. We house approximately 22 dogs and 30-40 cats. Our shelter is primarily a haven for stray animals from our area, where we care for them until they are adopted. We have a very small staff of part time employees, a board of directors of 12, and a solid group of volunteers. We are run solely on donations from the public.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are located at 533 Linden Avenue in New Kensington, PA. We are open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1-4. Open Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8.

Our Adoption Process...

$120 for dog adoption over 6 months in age. Dogs under 6 months $130. $80 for cat adoption over 6 months in age. Kittens under 6 months $100.

Application must be approved before adoption takes place. Our shelter does landlord checks and vet checks. Property checks are done on all dogs.
