Guido is an adorable, goofy, 14 pound, two year old shih tzu mix in search of his furever family!  Some of Guido's best traits are his adorable underbite and his goofy personality that will keep everyone around him giggling.  Guido is potty trained when let out regularly and kenneled when left alone.  He does fine in his kennel, but he will start to whine and bark when he hears his people come home; he doesn't want you to forget to let him out!  Guido sleeps in his foster mom's bed at night.  He usually takes up some space around her feet, but he will occasionally crawl up to snuggle with her.  Chew toys are a must for Guido - otherwise, he may start to chew on something he shouldn't!  He redirects quickly when told "no" and given an appropriate chew toy.  He has been great with all of the dogs and people (of all ages) that he has met.  He loves to wrestle with the playful resident dog at his foster home.  He has also been known to sneak nibbles of his foster mom's toes when she isn't paying attention.  Guido is a joy of a dog and he could fit in with just about any home!  Fill out an application to meet his silly guy today!

About Our Rescue Group...

Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue of MN is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to finding forever homes for stray, abandoned and surrendered companion animals. We are a small, volunteer run organization. All of our animals are housed in foster homes waiting to be adopted. We do not have a physical shelter. Please visit our website at wagsmn.org.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All animals are available to meet by appointment arranged with the foster.
Please come see us at Petsmart on the 2nd Saturday of each month in Eagan (Petsmart 1297 Promenade Pl, Eagan, MN 55121); 4th Saturday of each month in Richfield (Petsmart 1100 W 78th St, Richfield, MN 55423); and the 3rd Sunday of each month in Maple Grove (Petsmart 11200 Fountains Way Maple Grove, MN 55369). We will have many adoptable dogs, puppies, and maybe a kitten or two that are able to attend for public viewing... please stop in and play! If you are interested in a specific dog or cat from viewing our available animals at wagsmn.org, please email us in advance of an adoption event (wagswhiskersmn@gmail.com), and we will do our best to have them at the event.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process includes adoption application which can be completed at our website wagsmn.org. Current fees can also be accessed on our website. After reviewing your application, a meeting is scheduled between you and the pet in the foster’s home or a neutral dog friendly place. If there are any resident dogs in your home, it is required that the dogs meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit is scheduled and, if everything goes well with the visit, the adoption is finalized. A home visit by one of our representatives is required prior to finalizing any adoption, and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. We reserve the right to refuse any applicant for any reason Adoption fee includes: vet exam(s), spay/neuter, de-worming, heartworm test (if 6 months of age or older), vaccinations, microchip, and FIV/FeLv testing (for cats only). Email is the best way to get a fast response (wagswhiskersmn@gmail.com).
