Kennedy is a one-year-old Great Pyranees mix and a 60 lb gentle giant. She came to TMHPR from Balch Springs Animal Shelter but you would never know this sweet, calm well mannered girl once lived a rough life. She is docile, low key, eager to please, as smart as she is beautiful and picks up on commands and routines very quickly. She knows sit, stay, come here and is very well behaved in her crate. She is quiet and lays there patiently until you let her out.

Kennedy loves being outside. She likes long walks on leash, playing fetch, or just laying in the grass taking in the sun. She absolutely loves to play with her foster siblings and can romp around with them for hours. She also enjoys playing chase with the neighbors dog along the fence, but she is so big and goofy that her run looks more like a hop. It is the cutest thing to watch! Because she loves being outside, it would be great if her family could bring her out and about with them; to baseball games, patios and other activities.

After a long day, Kennedy loves curling up on the couch next to her family or at their feet. She won't complain about a good belly rub and will stretch her body & legs as far as she can to make sure you don't miss a spot. Another one of her favorite activities is chewing on her bone and playing tug with her toys.

Kennedy's ideal family would be one that will take her on adventures and will lounge with her after a long day. She does great with kids, so a family of any age would work. Because of her size and love to play, a larger active dog would be a great fit, but another furry friend is not a necessity. Come meet miss Kennedy and see for yourself why she will make a great addition to your home!

Kennedy's approximate birthday is 11/2/2015.

About Take Me Home Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Take Me Home Pet Rescue is a 100% nonprofit organization committed to reducing the homeless pet population by removing dogs and cats from shelters and other unfortunate situations and having them spayed, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted to their forever families.

We consists of a small core group of volunteers who care about the welfare of our homeless pets. We are located in Richardson, Texas and survive solely from your generous donations and fundraiser's (after fundraiser...after fundraiser!). All of our pets live in our homes as we do not have an actual facility. Because they live within the dynamics of the foster families and are exposed to children of all ages and other pets, we find that that our foster cats and dogs are more adoptable as they have already been socialized to live in a family environment.

We have been in existence since April 2008 and have already rescued over 600 dogs and cats from local kill shelters and other unfortunate situations.

All dogs and cats are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match.

Our Adoption Process...

All applications are submitted to an adoption board for approval to ensure a happy forever home for both owner and pet. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match. We will be in contact with you during this process.

Puppies are ready to go home after their 2nd of 3 shots and spay/neuter are complete. A $50 deposit will hold the puppy of your choice. The 3rd. shot is included in the adoption fee.

All pets are to be kept as indoor, non-working, members of your family and are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped.

A safe pet home visit is included in the adoption fee.
